Senators Scrutinize $20 Million Spent for Organ Network Meetings

Two senators are seeking answers about millions the federal government spent on organ transplant network board meetings and data migration issues as officials work to modernize the organization.

Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, inquired in a letter obtained by Bloomberg Government Tuesday about $20 million the board of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network spent on meetings in 2024.
