GOP Environment Panel Bill Would Delay Biden Methane Fee (1)

A fee imposed on oil and gas companies flaring excess methane would be paused for 10 years under Republican legislation released in the Senate.

The Environment and Public Works Committee made public its portion of the GOP reconciliation bill, which also claws back unobligated money for emissions reduction efforts, under the Senate panel’s jurisdiction provided in Democrats’ 2022 tax-and-climate law.
