Seema Verma announced her resignation as administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services effective Jan. 20.
“As the Trump Administration comes to a close, I have submitted my official resignation and am preparing to turn the keys over to the next Administrator next week,” Verma wrote Friday in a Twitter post.
Verma is best known for her efforts to provide greater transparency in drug, health insurance, and hospital pricing; to move Medicare toward value-based care; and to allow work requirements and block-grant style funding for Medicaid.
