The hourly minimum wage in Seattle, Washington, will rise to $20.76 from $19.97 effective Jan. 1, 2025, according to the city’s Office of Labor Standards.
The 2025 minimum wage will apply to all covered employers regardless of the amount of benefits they provide to employees, the office said in an Oct. 3 press release. In contrast, small employers, defined as those with 500 or fewer employees, may currently pay $17.25 per hour instead of the $19.97 rate if they contribute at least $2.72 per hour to employees’ medical benefits or employees earn at least $2.72 per hour in tips. ...
