The U.S. government must say if it intends to enforce a rule prohibiting family planning grant recipients from counseling clients about abortion pending a new regulation rescinding it, the U.S. Supreme Court said Monday.
The nation’s top court ordered the acting solicitor general to disclose what action the Health and Human Services Department will take if the existing rule is again challenged in court before the notice and comment period for a proposed new rule ends.
