Satanist Loses Second Challenge to Missouri Abortion Consent Law

A Satanic Temple member who plans to have an abortion lost her federal court challenge to Missouri’s informed consent law.

The law doesn’t constitute an establishment of religion or interfere with the free exercise of religious rights, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri said Feb. 21.

The law requires abortion providers to give women a booklet stating that life begins at conception, an opportunity to have an ultrasound examination, and a 72-hour waiting period.

The ruling dismissing “Judy Doe’s” complaint follows a Feb. 13 Missouri Supreme Court decision that also upheld the law.
