Samsung Drops Drug Data Case Against CVS Caremark, Tennessee

Samsung Electronics America Inc. abandoned its lawsuit against CaremarkPCS Health LLC and the state of Tennessee alleging disclosure of prescription drug data to state regulators.

The notice of dismissal on Monday didn’t say why the electronics giant was dropping the case. It comes less than two weeks after Samsung sued, accusing the company that does business as CVS Caremark of illegally sharing data related to Samsung’s self-funded employee health plan with Tennessee Insurance Commissioner Carter Lawrence.
