Rule Extending Length of Short-Term Health Plans Under Review

The Trump administration is getting closer to finalizing a plan to make it easier to sell health plans that don’t comply with Obamacare.

The Department of Health and Human Services’ short-term limited-duration insurance final rule was sent to the Office of Management and Budget for review July 18. The proposed rule, issued in February, would allow the plans to be sold for up to a year, as was the case before the Obama administration shortened the duration in 2016 to three months.
