Rhode Island has taken a step toward banning flavored e-cigarettes and adding new taxes on other e-cigarette products.
Gov. Gina Raimondo (D) ordered the state’s Department of Health to write rules to prohibit the sale of flavored e-cigarette products Sept. 25.
She also directed the state Department of Business Regulation and Department of Revenue to recommend new taxes on some e-cigarette products and to tighten up the licenses required of e-cigarette distributors and vaping bars, casual cafes people frequent to use e-cigarette products.
