US health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is calling on the public to weigh in on how the federal government can apply artificial intelligence in clinical care.
The US Department of Health and Human Services put out a request for information (RIN 0955-AA13) Friday in the Federal Register. The call comes at a heightened period of government interest in artificial intelligence use, with the Trump administration announcing it would recruit 1,000 AI experts with an eye on modernizing the federal workforce and calling on the Department of Justice to go after state laws restricting the technology.
