RelayHealth’s $10 Million Deal Gets Early OK in Surescripts Case

The retail pharmacies leading a monopolization lawsuit against Surescripts LLC and two other e-prescription services got preliminary approval from a federal judge in Chicago for a $10 million settlement that would let McKesson Corp. unit RelayHealth exit the case.

Judge John J. Tharp Jr. gave his tentative blessing Monday to the agreement resolving antitrust claims over RelayHealth’s role in an alleged conspiracy to clear the e-prescription routing market for Surescripts through exclusive dealing agreements and noncompetes.

The deal “is preliminarily determined to be fair, reasonable, adequate,” Tharp wrote, saying the settlement documents raise “no obvious reasons to doubt its fairness.” ...
