Quorum Health Sued by Former Vermont Health System CEO (1)

The former chief executive of Vermont’s Springfield Medicare Care Systems Inc. is suing Quorum Health Resources LLC and hospital board members who allegedly made him a scapegoat for the hospital’s poor performance and eventual bankruptcy.

Timothy Ford says he is owed severance pay SMCS withheld after he involuntarily resigned from the system. He also seeks damages for alleged tortious interference, emotional distress, defamation, and false light invasion of privacy.

Ford says Quorum, its employees, and SMCS board members blamed him for Springfield Hospital’s failure in media reports, and that he has been unable to find new employment as a result. ...
