Medical laboratory company Quest Diagnostics Inc. has paid $1.79 million to settle allegations that it defrauded Medicare by billing multiple times for the same services, in a case initiated by a whistle-blower, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Aug. 25 (United States ex rel. Martinez v. Quest Diagnostics Inc.settlement).
