A Puerto Rico hospital didn’t present enough evidence to avoid a trial on whether its damages must be limited in a medical malpractice birth injury case, a federal court said.
Whether Puerto Rico’s liability caps for teaching hospitals applied in this case depended on whether the patient received treatment as part of the hospital’s teaching program or in another capacity, the US District Court for the District of Puerto Rico said Wednesday.
