A Black Muslim woman can’t proceed on her medical malpractice claim against a pregnancy care physician and his clinic.
Jillian Rightmyer’s expert witness wasn’t qualified to give an opinion on whether physician Ozzie Geifman-Holtzman, of the Philly Pregnancy Center, negligently provided her with prenatal care, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said March 1.
The witness, Tiffany Swann, didn’t meet Pennsylvania’s requirements for expert witnesses because she was a licensed professional registered nurse who specialized in care management, not a licensed physician, the court said.
