Pharmacy Benefit Manager Group Decries House Hearing Agenda (1)

The trade group representing the nation’s top pharmacy benefit managers is redoubling criticism of congressional scrutiny into the industry, taking aim at a House panel for not inviting the organization’s members to testify at a hearing Tuesday.

The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association, whose members include Express Scripts and CVS Caremark, submitted a written statement to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee conducting an investigation into the entities that manage prescription drug coverage for employers and others. The group noted it was “disappointed” the PBM-focused hearing won’t include “a witness broadly representative of the pharmacy benefit industry.”
