PharmaCare U.S., Inc. must keep defending nearly all claims in a proposed class action alleging it illegally sells elderberry diet supplements and misleads consumers into thinking the products will enhance their immunity and prevent disease, a California federal court said.
In March 2020, sales of the elderberry supplements increased by 415% over prior years as consumers sought to buy products that would offer “immune support” from the coronavirus, according to the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
