Pfizer CEO Downplays Impact of Shift to Private Covid Shot Sales

Americans will be shielded from the impact of Pfizer’s decision to raise the price of the Covid-19 vaccine, the company’s CEO Albert Bourla said Wednesday.

The government lacks funding to accomplish core tenants of its Covid response, such as federally procuring Covid-19 vaccines and offering them free to Americans. Stalemates in Congress forced the government’s hand, causing them to rush commercialization before the pandemic conditions improved significantly.
