A Pennsylvania medical center sued the Biden administration, alleging a government contractor unlawfully discontinued the hospital’s Medicare enrollment and billing privileges over a belief that the hospital had voluntarily terminated its provider agreement.
The complaint, filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claims that Delaware County Memorial Hospital’s payment contract was unilaterally terminated after a Medicare contractor received notice from the Pennsylvania Department of Health that the hospital had “voluntarily” annulled its Medicare provider agreement with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
