Pelosi Seeks Probe of Alleged Hysterectomies at Detention Center

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Homeland Security Dept’s watchdog must immediately investigate a whistle-blower complaint accusing an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center of performing mass hysterectomies on immigrant women.

• “If true, the appalling conditions described in the whistle-blower complaint – including allegations of mass hysterectomies being performed on vulnerable immigrant women – are a staggering abuse of human rights,” Pelosi says in statement
• Pelosi says it is also “essential that we get answers regarding ICE’s egregious handling of the coronavirus pandemic”
