Patients Press Senate on Drug Pricing Package as Recess Nears

Patient advocacy groups launched a campaign Thursday pushing Senate leaders to advance and pass a slate of bills aimed at lowering prescription drug costs ahead of Congress’ August recess.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) joined leaders from Patients For Affordable Drugs Now and AARP at a press conference urging the chamber to finalize legislation that would encourage generic and biosimilar competition and prohibit drug manufacturers from using patents to delay generic market entry.
