Parents Seek to Revive Suit Over Texas Patient’s ‘Euthanasia’

The parents of a patient hospitalized for treatment of a serious brain injury after jumping out of a car are trying to revive claims that a doctor deliberately killed him by removing his breathing tube.

Berman De Paz Gonzalez and Emerita Martinez-Torres told the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas that they are appealing its summary judgment for Theresa Duane. They had alleged that the physician “intentionally euthanized” their son without their consent, thereby depriving him of his constitutional rights to life and liberty.
