Pandemic Preparedness, Substance Use Nominees to Get Senate Vote

President Joe Biden’s picks for top HHS posts to prepare for the next public health emergency and address the opioid crisis will be considered by the full Senate after a committee voted Wednesday to advance their nominations.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee gave bipartisan support on the nominations of Dawn O’Connell to serve as assistant secretary for preparedness and response and Miriam Delphin-Rittmon for assistant secretary for mental health and substance use of the Department of Health and Human Services.
