Medicare payments to hospitals for outpatient services will see a 2.0% increase in payment rate for 2022, while home health providers will get a 2.6% boost.
The increases were part of a pair of rules released Tuesday by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The rules will take effect once published in the Federal Register.

The final rule (RIN 0938-AU43) for hospital outpatient services also strengthens penalties on hospitals that don’t comply with a Trump-era price transparency rule requiring them to publish standard charges for health items and services.
