One of the nation’s largest organ procurement groups is suing the federal government to vacate its approval of a rival group’s “poaching” of a hospital within its exclusive service district.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services violated the law governing the nation’s organ transplant network by permitting Renown Health to end its contract with the designated area provider for transplant-related services and award it to a competitor that allegedly offered it a multi-million dollar kickback, Donor Network West told the US District Court for the District of Nevada March 7.
