A former OraSure Technologies Inc. researcher gave the testmaker’s confidential information to competitor NOWDiagnostics Inc. before jumping to the rival medical company, a complaint claims.
OraSure filed a lawsuit against two former employees—Janean Young and Jody Berry—and NOWDiagnostics in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Thursday.
The suit alleges that Young, who served as an OraSure research director, resigned to join Berry at NOWDiagnostics. Berry held the roles of vice president of research and development and chief scientific officer of the diagnostics unit at OraSure.
