Oklahoma Urges Top Court to Review Family Planning Funds Suit

Oklahoma’s bid to restore a family planning grant withdrawn by the Biden Administration in 2023 should move forward, the state told the US Supreme Court.

A US Department of Health and Human Services notice giving Oklahoma access to nearly $2 million beginning April 1 didn’t moot the case or render it insignificant, the state said Thursday. That’s about half of $4.5 million annual amount HHS awarded to Oklahoma in 2022 as part of the five-year grant program, and the state is being harmed by the agency’s failure to restore the entire award, it said.
