Phoenix Healthcare has reached a settlement of with HHS’ Office for Civil Rights over an alleged violation of the HIPAA’s Right of Access provision, the agency said Friday.
Phoenix Healthcare, an Oklahoma multi-facility organization in nursing care, allegedly wouldn’t provide a daughter serving as a personal representative with a copy of her mother’s medical records, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
The organization didn’t send the records until almost a year from the request after attempts to get the records by OCR, HHS said.
