The Biden administration will invest nearly $100 million in grant funding—a record—to 59 returning “navigator” organizations that help connect consumers with health coverage through the Obamacare marketplace, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
The $98.9 million in funding—up from $80 million last year—will allow the organizations to retain staff and add to the 1,500-plus navigators who helped consumers find coverage in nearly every state and county that used the federal HealthCare.gov website last year. Marketplace open enrollment for 2023 coverage starts Nov. 1, 2022, and ends Jan. 15, 2023.
