Obamacare Fight Draws Panel With Two Republican-Appointed Judges (1)

Democrats fighting back against a lower court’s decision to kill Obamacare have pulled what appears to be a conservative panel to hear their appeal.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit announced July 1 that Judges Carolyn King, Jennifer Elrod, and Kurt Engelhardt will decide whether to uphold the Affordable Care Act, a federal law that has provided millions of Americans health insurance.

King was appointed to the bench by Democratic President Jimmy Carter while Elrod and was appointed by Republican President George W. Bush and Engelhardt by President Donald Trump.
