Obamacare open enrollment will be extended until Aug. 15, the Department of Health and Human Services said Tuesday.
The enrollment period previously was set to close on May 15.
The extension will give consumers more time to take advantage of new premium subsidies made available through the American Rescue Plan, the HHS said in a statement. The two-year addition to Affordable Care Act premium subsidies for current enrollees and people who have previously made too much to qualify for them starts April 1.
