Obamacare Closes Health Coverage Gap for Asian Americans: Report

Obamacare helped close the gap in health insurance coverage between Asian Americans and White people, according to a report released Tuesday.

The report by the Commonwealth Fund showed that by 2017-2018, Asian Americans had the lowest uninsured rate of any racial or ethnic group.

Asian Americans were more likely to be uninsured prior to the Affordable Care Act’s passage. But the group’s uninsured rate fell to 7.9% by 2017-2018, compared to an 8.5% uninsured rate for White people, according to the report.
