Obamacare Call Center Workers Strike, Seeking Breaks, Better Pay

Mississippi call center workers who would have spent Tuesday fielding calls about Obamacare coverage instead began a strike over pay and working conditions.

Under a contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Maximus Inc. places workers at facilities receiving calls from individuals trying to sign up for Affordable Care Act health insurance.

Tuesday was the first day of ACA enrollment for 2023, a day hundreds of call-center workers marked by striking.
