NY Sues Over Ads Touting Reversal of Pill-Induced Abortion (1)

Heartbeat International Inc. and other anti-abortion groups are violating New York consumer protection laws by promoting pill-induced abortion reversal, state Attorney General Letitia James (D) said in a complaint filed Monday.

“There is no competent and reliable scientific evidence to substantiate Defendants’ claims about” the efficiency and safety of abortion pill reversal, including its “central promise,” James told the New York Supreme Court for New York County. The process lacks federal approval and has been deemed “unproven and unscientific” by major US medical professional organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she said.
