NY Nursing Home’s Covid Failures Caused Death, Suit Alleges

A New York City nursing home operator faces allegations that management failures and negligence within its facility put residents in a position to die from Covid-19.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in the Supreme Court for the State of New York, County of Queens, the family of nursing home resident Albert Hurst alleged that Peninsula Nursing and Rehabilitation Center failed to maintain a system for preventing, identifying, investigating, and controlling infections, which led to the death of Hurst, as well as other facility residents.
