Just over 2.8 million New Yorkers have signed up for health insurance through the state’s health plan marketplace as of the close of the 2016 open enrollment period, the marketplace, NY State of Health, announced Feb. 23.
Of the 2.8 million, almost 2 million are enrolled in Medicaid and 866,903 in non-Medicaid plans, according to the state.
There are 271,964 New Yorkers enrolled in a qualified health plan, 379,559 enrolled in an essential plan and 215,380 enrolled in the state’s Child Health Plus program.
