A California-based nursing home chain and two executives will pay $7 million to settle alleged false Medicare Part A claims, according to the Justice Department Friday.
To conserve hospital beds during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services waived the requirement that a patient must have had at least a three-day hospital stay before reimbursing for skilled care in a nursing home.
