Nursing Homes Must Educate, Offer Covid-19 Shots, HHS Says (1)

Nursing homes and other congregate care facilities must educate all residents and staff about Covid-19 vaccines, offer shots to all residents and staff, and report certain data regarding vaccination and therapeutic treatments under a new rule unveiled Tuesday.

The interim final rule (RIN 0938-AU57) applies to all care facilities that receive Medicare or Medicaid. Homes that care for people with disabilities are also included in the rule, but the reporting requirements are optional.
