June 15, 2022, 8:46 PM UTC

The Justice Department filed a complaint under the False Claims Act against American Health Foundation, affiliate AHF Management Corp., and three affiliated nursing homes in Ohio and Pennsylvania that alleges grossly substandard skilled nursing services between 2016 and 2018, the department saidWednesday.

The US alleged the nursing homes failed to meet required standards of care, such as not following appropriate infection control protocols or maintaining adequate staffing levels, according to the DOJ.

The complaint originates from an investigation that the department initiated as part of its National Nursing Home Initiative.
