Nursing Homes’ Covid Booster Rates Added to Medicare Website

Data on Covid vaccine booster shots administered to residents and staff of individual nursing homes is now being posted on Medicare.gov’s Care Compare website. The new data will be updated every two weeks.

As of Jan. 23, 66.8% of U.S. nursing home residents had received booster shots, compared with just 31.8% of nursing home staff, according to the website.

More than 87% of nursing home residents have been vaccinated against Covid-19, along with 82% of staff, the data shows. Nursing homes have reported Covid-19 data to the CDC since May 2020.
