Nursing Home Staffing Mandate Faces Headwinds After Trump Win

The nursing home industry wants the incoming Trump administration to scrap a Biden administration rule that requires facilities to beef up staffing levels.

Many policy observers fully expect it. Trump’s defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election “seems like the nail in the coffin” for the staffing mandate, said David Grabowski, a professor of health-care policy at Harvard Medical School.
