The New York-based owners of a company that manages a Tennessee nursing home must defend a personal injury suit in Tennessee because they are sufficiently involved in the company’s operations to be sued there, a federal trial court said.
Donald Denz, Norbert Bennett, and the trust companies they manage are subject to suit in Tennessee under an alter ego theory because they control both a nursing home and its management company, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee said.
