NEW YORK—The Danish drug manufacturer Novo Nordisk Inc. announced June 10 that it will pay $26.7 million to settle a pair of whistleblower cases stemming from investigations into its marketing practices.
The company, based in Bagsvaerd, Denmark, said it will pay $25 million to settle a False Claims Act qui tam, or whistleblower, complaint brought under seal by the Department of Justice and two individuals. It added that it had disclosed the investigation in February 2009 after receiving subpoenas in the case.
