Novo Nordisk Accord With Minnesota on Insulin Prices Approved

A federal judge approved a settlement between Novo Nordisk A/S and Minnesota to cap the out-of-pocket cost of insulin at $35 a month for state residents, following similar accords with other drugmakers.

US District Judge Brian Martinotti signed off Tuesday on the deal, which will cover residents for five years, regardless of whether they have insurance. The poorest residents would the medicine used to treat diabetes for free. Last year, Minnesota settled with Eli Lilly & Co. and Sanofi.
