North Carolina Moves to Allow Experimental Stem Cell Treatments

North Carolina is on the verge of allowing terminally and chronically ill patients to pursue experimental stem cell treatments.

The state Legislature gave final approval to a bill (H.B. 934) that would add such investigational therapies to the state’s right-to-try law. The approval is limited to adult stem cells. The bill specifically bans the use of fetal tissue.
