North Carolina Information Exchange Opens to Health Provider Participation

RALEIGH, N.C.—Providers have begun to link to the North Carolina Health Information Exchange (NC HIE), representatives of participating groups told Bloomberg BNA April 5.

According to Chris Scarboro, manager of HIE activities for Community Care of North Carolina, the initial group of independent physicians and clinics “have started onboarding this week.”

Community Care of North Carolina is the first organization qualified by the statewide health exchange as meeting technical, legal, and policy standards necessary to offer an interface to access the network.
