The guides, called “skin notation profiles,” provide more detail than is available in NIOSH’s Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, the agency said. Each skin notation profile includes information on a chemical’s potential to cause localized damage such as irritated skin, immune-mediated responses such as allergic reactions, and system toxicity such as neurotoxicity.
