The head of the federal government’s medical research agency is interested in staying on under the Trump administration.

Francis S. Collins told Bloomberg BNA Dec. 9 that he would stay on as director of the National Institutes of Health if President-elect Donald Trump offered him the job. He said the Trump transition team hasn’t asked him to retain his position.

“I love this place, and I love the mission of this place. ... So if I were asked to stay, I would consider it a privilege.”
NIH Director Francis S. Collins
