New York Podiatrist Sees Claims Trimmed in Retaliation Lawsuit

A New York podiatrist’s qui tam fraud claims against a fellow doctor can’t proceed because he failed to provide sufficient detail in his allegations, a federal judge decided.

George Vito sued Joseph Canzoneri in the US District Court for the Western District of New York, alleging that he and his affiliated podiatry practice, Advanced Podiatry Associates, violated the False Claims Act and state law by improperly reusing single-use medication vials and terminating Vito when he blew the whistle on the practice.
