N.Y. Nurse Service Agrees to $57 Million Fraud Settlement (1)

Visiting Nurse Service of New York agreed to pay $57 million to resolve a whistleblower’s allegations the company violated the False Claims Act by failing to provide proper care to its patients while seeking maximum reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid, according to a Friday announcement.

The settlement is the first reported FCA settlement involving allegations of a home health agency failing to follow patient Plans of Care, the announcement said.
